Gigi, OTC alum David Foulquier taking over NeMesis spot with farm-to-table Fooq's

Just days after chef Micah Edelstein announced the closing of her beloved NeMesis, we have learned that Gigi and OTC alum David Foulquier is opening Fooq’s, “a restaurant that will bring farm-to-table, international feel-good cuisine to Miami’s Arts & Entertainment District” in early 2015. According to a rep, Foulquier, who has worked under Daniel Boulud and Jean Georges, “has developed a refined palate and taste for exceptional culinary experiences and warm hearted hospitality.”

As for the name, it’s not what some of us with toddlers say when we want to say something else, but, rather a nickname given to Foulquier’s family home “known amongst friends as a staple meeting place with an open-door policy.” Foulquier plans to take that concept to his restaurant, “that will make guests feel like they are stepping into someone’s home,” where “the eclectically-curated menu of homemade dishes will make for the perfect complement to the intimate yet charming ambiance.”
