Faith finally paid off.
The new pop up by Barley chef/owner Jorgie Ramos, Faith & Pizza, opens today in Downtown Dadeland. Ramos and his landlord agreed to donate the first six months of profits to charity, as the restaurant tests whether it can become a permanent sister restaurant to Barley.
Also, in Coral Gables, the popular Fort Lauderdale gastropub and Sunday brunch mecca Tap 42 opens a third location in City Beautiful Wednesday. (The second was in Boca Raton.) The restaurant was supposed to open in March.
“It took longer than expected, but we wanted it to be perfect,” said Alex Rudolph, vice president of development.
Describing itself as a “craft beer bar and kitchen,” its focus is on an extensive tap list to rival any in South Florida and a kitchen overseen by Andrew Balick, who worked in top South Florida restaurants such as Azul at the Mandarin Oriental and the DiLido Beach Club at the Ritz-Carlton South Beach.
