If you didn’t dine at Michelle Bernstein’s stellar hotel venture, Seagrape, you’ve missed your chance.
Bernstein, the James Beard Award-winning chef whose menu at the Seagrape inside the former Thompson Hotel earned it a three-star Miami Herald review a little over a year ago, is out at Seagrape.
Hyatt Hotels & Resorts bought the Thompson in late March and today confirmed that they have parted ways with Bernstein and her husband/chef partner David Martinez. Hyatt Hotels will run the restaurant for the time being.
The duo “will no longer be overseeing food and beverage concerns for the former Thompson Miami Beach,” according to a statement.
The hotel’s sale will not affect Talde Miami Beach, the casual Asian-American restaurant led by chef Dale Talde, a two-time “Top Chef” contestant.
