Big name chefs heading to Hyde Beach on September 22 for Hunger Action Month

While we’re sure September has many so-called “National Days of [insert some random foodstuffs here,” the most important thing about September is that it’s Hunger Action Month, and in support of that, Hyde Beach is throwing a huge fundraising food-fest called Taste: Celebrity Chef Edition from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday, September 22 featuring an impressive roster of lauded chefs:

Katsuya Uechi (Katsuya), Dale Talde (Talde Miami Beach), Michael Schwartz (Michael’s Genuine), Makoto Okuwa (Makoto), Susur Lee (Top Chef Masters, Tunglok Heen), Paul Qui (Pao by Paul Qui), Jose Icardi (Katsuya, Restaurant at the Raleigh), Michael Pirolo (Macchialina), Steve Rhee (Kiki on the River), Jose Mendin (Pubbellies), Josh Elliott (Restaurant at The Raleigh), Tito Vargas (The Bazaar by Jose Andres), Arturo Paz (Cleo South Beach), Mathias Gervais (The Setai Miami Beach), and so-called surprise guests.

VIP tickets start at $125 and include a private sashimi demo by Uechi in addition to a selection of dishes from the aforementioned chefs, hosted cocktails, craft beer, wine and sake from 7 p.m. to midnight. General admission tix start at $75 and include food, hosted cocktails, craft beer, wine and sake from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Best of all, proceeds go towards Feeding South Florida, where $1 equals six meals and, according to an event organizer, “we are aiming to raise 20,000 to 30,000 meals with this event.

We have partnered with Feeding South Florida to help raise meals for the hungry during September, which is hunger action month.  $1 = 6 meals, so we are aiming to raise 20000-30000 meals.
