Barley to open a second Dadeland restaurant in Kendall

Barley: An American Brasserie is opening a sister location in 2016.

Barley, chef-owner Jorgie Ramos’ global comfort-food gastropub at 9059 SW 73rd Ct. in Kendall, is opening a sister location around the corner, in Downtown Dadeland

The shiny, new, 2,300-square-foot Barley: An American Brasserie, set to open next spring, will feature Ramos’ same mashup of Spanish, Latin American and new American, plus new dishes still in the making and a refreshed cocktail and craft beer menu. The new location also will be open for lunch, something the current Barley doesn’t offer on weekdays.

When the new one opens, the existing Barley will transform into … something. Ramos says he’s toying with several ideas, including tacos, seafood and pasta.

After weighing options in other locations, Ramos, a South Florida Food 50 winner, explains why he decided to double down on Dadeland:

“I’m from Kendall, and I want to transform my neighborhood into something that residents all across Miami can be proud of.”
