Over the summer came the news that the Boulan hotel, 2000 Collins Ave., and its popular Orange Blossom, were being rebranded, remodeled and renamed Villa Bagatelle and Bagatelle, respectively, after its posh siblings in jet-setty locations like St. Barth and St. Tropez among others. Bagatelle restaurant is expected to open January 15.
Owners Aymeric Clemente and Remi Laba promise the place will “continue its reputation as the most exciting and liveliest culinary destination.”
As for the menu, look for modern French cuisine at the hands of executive chef Matthieu Godard, formerly of db Bistro. His dishes include ahi tuna tartare with avocado chutney and Key lime-soy dressing; gnocchi with truffles and parmesan; and roasted chicken with truffles, potatoes and caramelized onions.
There will also be crystal chandeliers, art, a stone bar and champagne. Lots of it.
