5 last-minute Mother's Day brunches in Miami

If you’ve just realized Mother’s Day is next Sunday, then you’re definitely in need of some last-minute brunch ideas. From pop-ups to new brunch debuts we’ve got five picks for where you, mom and mimosas can do some catching up.

1. Drunken Dragon

In honor of Mother’s Day, this den of Asian cooking will be teasing their new brunch menu, which will launch shortly thereafter. Dishes like the “Pain Perdu,” French toast topped with house-made smoked bacon, banana crème, strawberry stew and Gochugaru Maple Glaze, the softshell crab salad and the “Mapo-Tofu Fries” will round out the eclectic meal. Bloody Marys made with homemade kimchi and red dragon sauce keep things spicy.

Prices: Al a carte, $20 unlimited mimosas

Hours: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Info.: 1424 Alton Rd., Miami Beach. 305-397-8556

2. Riviera Focacceria Italiana

This rustic Italian spot is introducing its Sunday brunch, which will continue on a weekly basis. But you will not find traditional eggs and pancakes here. Instead, look for the Polpettone Faglioni e Patate, a unique vegetable “meatloaf” with eggs, Parmesan, string beans, and potatoes, and a  traditional home-cooked Frittata. On the lighter side there’s the Tonno Verde, tuna tartare featuring lightly seared chopped tuna with pesto dressing, served with orange and fennel salad. All of the Riviera menu favorites will also be available, like the Focaccia col Formaggio, a thin, flaky dough filled with Stracchino cheese, and the signature Mandilli di Seta al Pesto, homemade pasta with housemade pesto sauce.

Prices: al a carte, $25 bottomless basil bellinis

Hours: noon to 4:30 p.m.

Info.: 3252 NE Buena Vista Blvd., Midtown. 786-220-6251

3. Cafe Des Arts

Lead mom to this sophisticated Mediterranean bistro South of Fifth where ample outdoor seating is nicely shaded and the vibe is reminiscent of Côte d’Azur. In addition to brunch dishes of truffle scrambled eggs and lobster salad, Chef Patrick Kirschner is creating a seafood tower for two and pairing it with a bottle of rosé for $65 total. Better still, moms will receive a $20 gift card to come back and try any of the other dishes they crave.

Prices: $65 seafood special; full lunch menu will also be available.

Hours: noon to 3 p.m.

Address: 22 Washington Ave, South Beach. 305-534-2555

4. Mina’s Mediterraneo

If she loves Middle Eastern food she’ll swoon for this Egyptian-inspired spot where dishes of shakshuka, Merguez Benedict with harissa hollandaise and molasses-tahini spread round out the North African feast. Reserve a table on the expansive covered outdoor patio, and let mom bask in her complimentary glass of champagne.

Pricing: al a carte, $20 bottomless mimosas and sangrias

Hours: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Info.: 749 NE 79th St, Upper East Side. 786-391-0300

5. Ariete

This small-but-mighty Coconut Grove spot has already garnered a cult following for Chef Michael Beltran’s farm-inspired brunch favorites like his take on a McGriddle, dubbed the Mc-Chug, made with venison-pork sausage, fried egg, maple bread and a slab of foie gras or the Squid Ink Bagel with pastrami salmon, heirloom tomato, soft-boiled egg, and herbs. Sweets include Cereal Tres Leche made with puffed wheat, crema and buttered toast ice cream, homemade honey buns and cafe con leche popsicles. All moms receive flowers and mimosas.

Prices: a la carte

Hours: 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Info.: 3540 Main Hwy, Coconut Grove. 305-640-5862.
