Who can resist a lady in red and a good cause?

Not us.

On October 18, 2013, celebrities, television and radio personalities, designers and models will unite  to spread awareness about heart diseases and stroke, the No. 1 and No. 4 killers of Americans, at the Miami Red Dress Fashion Show during Funkshion’s Fall Fashion Week Miami Beach. As an iconic symbol of this movement, the red dress helps take the message further in an inspirational and artistically visual manner. Nationally, the color red is promoted to further establish the American Heart Association as the leading authority on heart heath.

The annual event, which celebrates fashion, philanthropy and culture all in the name of heart health, will be held at 21st Street and Collins Avenue in Miami Beach, and will take place on the opening night of Fall Fashion Week in Miami Beach.

International and local fashion designers including Club Monaco and Filomena Fernandez as well as the high-fashion attire rental website Rent the Runway, will participate in this event by providing unique red dresses to debut in the show.

Celebrities, models and survivors of heart disease will pose for pictures to aid in the promotion of the campaign and to create a greater value to the dress before it is auctioned. Their participation and support helps strengthen the message of improving heart health in our community and assists in generating funds to support the life-saving research and implementation of innovative programs of the American Heart Association.

 Tickets are $50 per person.
