For the Global Good

Actor slash rapper Cam’ron heads to Miami for a show and sale, yep, a sale, Saturday, Sept. 27 at Grand Central, 697 N. Miami Ave. The event, hosted by Sneaker Pimps, not to be confused with the awesome ’90s British trip hop band of the same name, combines “street wear, culture, electronics and music into one,” hosting the show and providing a platform–or rubber sole, for people to buy, sell and trade sneakers. Party goes from 8 to 11 p.m. Tickets range from $20 to $100 and are available at

Bar Wars
Who’s the best bartender in the land besides the one who serves you free drinks? That’s to be determined via Remy Cointreau and HaVen South Beach’s Bar Wars, in which master mixers from places such as The Regent Cocktail Club, Blackbird Ordinary, Macchialina, Radio South Beach and, of course HaVen, will vie for the title of Bar Wars Champ. Two will go head-to-head at 8 p.m. on Sept. 30 at 1237 Lincoln Rd., Miami Beach. For more information, go to

Any Given Sunday
While the Shore Club’s Redroom, 1901 Collins Ave., has seen torrents of players in its storied history, there will be none like those at their new weekly party, The Sunday Play when, from noon till 7 p.m. the place transforms itself into “the ultimate man-cave,” says a rep, with 60-inch HDTVs, a 150-inch screen, free WiFi, an all-you-can-eat buffet of wings, hot dogs, gourmet popcorn and unlimited draft beer, sangria and house wine. Guys pay $50 and women pay $35. For reservations, call 786-276-6772 or email

The Great Pumpkin
Speaking of HaVen, while the obsession with pumpkin flavored coffee may baffle some, ahem, the pumpkin is worth your while. Just ask chef Todd Erickson, whose HaVen South Beach, 1237 Lincoln Rd., pays homage to the orange gourd at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1 with Pumpkin Palooza. Teaming up with Macchialina’s chef Michael Pirolo, Erickson and co. will prepare five dishes while Macchialina’s Will Rivas and Haven’s Isaac Grillo will be “procuring the pumpkin cocktails.” That’s right. Pumpkin cocktails. Take that, lattes. Five- course dinner and five craft cocktails for $75. Reservations required:
