SUSHISAMBA Miami Beach will launch a new ‘Saketober-fest’ menu featuring a series of sake-inspired dishes and cocktails. The menu, which will run through October 30, will debut Thursday, October 1 in celebration of World Sake Day. To kick off the festivities on launch night, Geisha will serve a selection of sake-infused cocktails to guests including a Sake Caipirinha, a Saketini and a Sake Negroni ($9 each) starting at 5:30 p.m.

Flights of sake produced by talented female Toji (master brewers) in Japan will also be availble for sampling. Priced at $19, each flight will include three glasses of the following:

Fukucho “Moon On the Water” Junmai Ginjo – slightly sweet with a dry finish; hints of fennel, white pepper and allspice alongside a fruity nose of lime and melon. Best served with food. Made by one of the very small number of female brewers in Japan’s Hiroshima prefecture.

Yuho “Eternal Embers” Junmai – raisin notes with touches of grainy nuttiness; can be served warm or slightly chilled; features lots of umami without being cloying. Produced in Japan’s Ishikawa prefecture.

Yuho “Rhythm of the Centuries” Kimoto Junmai – driven by a character-laden umami and featuring nutty and citrus-tinged flavors that add compexity and acidity; can be served warm or slightly chilled. Produced by Toji Toshio Yokomichi using a centuries-old rhythmic pole-ramming technique called Yama-oroshi to mix the yeast starter for this Kimoto sake. It is aged for approximately four years to create overall smoothness.
