Miss Coco Peru at Cabaret, Spring Fling at 1111, db Bistro happenings, early bird boozing at Katsuya

Not all drag queens lip sync other peoples’ stuff — not that there’s anything wrong with that. Miss Coco Peru is one of those, an accomplished, colorful storyteller slash monologist whose cabaret career started in NYC over 20 years ago with Miss Coco Peru in My Goddamn Cabaret. At 8 p.m. Friday, April 10 and Saturday, April 11 at The Cabaret South Beach, 233 12th St., Peru, real name Clinton Leupp, will perform some of her classic monologues and songs as well as some new material in Have You Heard? And you may have heard of or seen her before on everything from “Trick” and “To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar” to an Orbitz commercial that was nominated for a GLAAD Media Award. Fling Into Spring
As indistinguishable as the seasons are here in SoFlo, it’s nice to celebrate them anyway, especially with events like the Locust Projects’ annual Spring Fling fundraiser. From 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, April 11, the parking garage at 1111 Lincoln Road will be tripping the springy fantastic with fashion, art and entertainment. Among them: a Neiman Marcus Bal Harbour fashion show, a silent art auction and chow from Harry’s Pizzeria, Macchialina, Misha’s Cupcakes, Shake Shack and Lyon & Lyon. Lolo spins. Tickets are $150 per person or $125 for Locust Projects Members and are available at locustprojects.org.

db Bistro, 255 Biscayne Blvd. Way, may seem like a swanky spot for celebs and people like Tony Parker, but kicking off on April 13, it’s for pretty much anyone who eats meat and has $35 bucks to spare. From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Monday, $35 will get you endless Charcuterie — house made pates, terrines, cured meats, olives, mustards, marmalades, cornichons and pickled stuff — plus one glass of wine — red, white or rosé as selected by sommelier Alan Feldman. If meats aren’t your thing and cigars are, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, there will be ports, madeiras, rums and bourbons to accompany a slection of international and domestic smokes; and from 11 p.m. to close Tuesday through Saturday, a late night happy hour will offer signature and seasonal nightcaps on the rocks for $10 and straight up for $12.

Sip. Eat. Repeat.
For those of us who would rather read the instructions on a shampoo bottle than watch a Kardashian reality show, the instructions “wash, rinse and repeat” can be as engrossing as a Tolstoy novel. Taking it to the next level of stimulation is Katsuya South Beach, 1701 Collins Ave., whose Sunday through Thursday “Sip. Eat. Repeat.” twists your arms and legs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with excellent deals by the hour. For example: at 6 p.m., all drinks will be $6 and at 7 p.m. they will be $7. And you get the picture. Clearly, in this case, the early bird gets the booze.
