Let’s get loud!
Shane Battier is ready to bust a move again this year.
The retired Miami Heat star is prepping his vocal cords for his annual karaoke-themed fundraiser Battioke 2017.
The fun goes down Sept. 14 at Ball & Chain on Calle Ocho.
Athletes from past and present and a few local celebs will hit the stage to help raise money for The Battier Take Charge Foundation, a nonprofit helping with college scholarships and educational opportunities for underprivileged youth.
“I am lucky to have so many former teammates, friends and supporters that are willing to get on stage and potentially embarrass themselves to support a cause that is so close to my heart,” said Battier, who donned a wig and dress last year to belt out a few tunes.
Shane’s wife Heidi is looking forward to hearing all the, um, talent.
“We can’t wait to see who surprises us with memorable performances this year – for good or bad reasons!”
Past participants include Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, Chris Bosh, Pat Riley, James Jones, Udonis Haslem, Jon Secada, Jimmy Buffett, Larry Johnson, Gabrielle Union and Ken Jeong.
Limited general admission tickets to Battioke are available at $100 per person. Attendees must be 21 or older.
