Nina Agdal star of the show at Basel event

Nina Agdal was ready for her closeup Friday night. The Sports Illustrated cover girl, along with fellow beauties Teresa Moore and Julie Henderson, showed at the National Hotel Friday night for a live shoot for Photo Magazine’s December cover. Agdal looked to be in good spirits despite the fact that her cat Zsa Zsa died the night before. The pet was reportedly 17 years old.

The event was an exhibit as well, featuring the works of French large scale sculpture artist Richard Orlinski. His installation pieces will be on display through Sunday at the National. Think: A giant red shoe, which rests in the hotel’s outdoor pool. It’s a piece from his Born Wild series called “Stilleto Rouge.”

Guests checked out pictures from the upcoming coffee table book, “Role Model,” with 100 never seen before images of actors, pop stars, athletes and other personalities. It was shot by German photography duo Markus&Koala, who work for their country’s celebrity magazine, Schon.

Scantily clad men (in just black Speedo type trunks) held framed, blown-up photographs from “Role Model” as they walked around the property and attendees stood next to them for selfies. Good thing the balmy weather held up.

The evening also exhibited the work of Markus + Indrani, recognized for such iconic album covers,as Beyonce’s “Dangerously in Love”, David Bowie’s, “Heathen,” and Mariah Carey’s “Emancipation of Mimi.”
