Magic Mike star cancels appearance at Palm Beach gala

Too bad, so very sad.

True Blood star Joe Manganiello did not attend the gala for The Palm Beach International Film Festival, celebrating its 20th anniversary.

Much to the disappointment to his fans, the actor pulled out of his scheduled appearance Saturday night, due to unforeseen circumstances. Hmmm. We can’t imagine what….unless Sofia Vergara broke up with him, though we highly doubt that.

A spokeswoman says it was due to a “production delay,” and that he taped his acceptance and apology shown at the party.

OK, if it was a production delay for “Magic Mike XXL” we are all for his not showing up, because we definitely want that movie moving forward.

The 37-year-old six-foot-five beefcake  was to be presented with a well deserved career achievement award for his um, standout, work in MM as well as on HBO’s True Blood. Manganiello plays fan-favorite Alcide Herveaux, the loyal, no-nonsense (hot) werewolf.

His latest project: directing the documentary La Bare, described on as an insider’s look at the history, lives and culture of a Dallas male strip club.

According to Vergara,  the film is already an Oscar qualifier, she tweeted.

And guess who couldn’t be happier for the couple? The Modern Family star’s ex fiance, Nick Loeb.

The political wannabe turned entrepreneur told UsWeekly at the Blacks gala last week that “if it makes them very happy that’s great.”
