Summer’s hottest fashion destination, you ask? Look no further than Louis Vuitton’s Miami Design District store. Today — after heaps of hype (Vogue touted it as “gold”) and online hullabaloo (yes, there were reported leaks) — locals and visitors alike can touch and feel the much buzzed about, highly anticipated Louis Vuitton x Supreme collection at the Design District-based pop-up before the collection hits stores worldwide in mid July.
“It’s uptown and downtown,” Louis Vuitton Men’s Artistic Director Kim Jones says of the men’s luxury sportswear collaboration. “It’s artists and musicians, friends and heroes,” he adds.

It is also a defining moment for South Florida’s burgeoning fashion scene. The French maison handpicked Miami and Los Angeles as the only U.S. markets to pre-launch the coveted collection. Other pop-up locations worldwide include Sydney, Tokyo, Seoul, Beijing, Paris and London.
“No New York City men’s conversation is complete without Supreme,” Jones says. Established in 1994 by James Jebbia, Supreme opened its doors on Lafayette Street in downtown Manhattan and became the home of New York City skate culture. The rebellious brand grew to be the embodiment of downtown culture and is now a global phenomenon. Celebrities such as Victoria Beckham, Lady Gaga, Kanye West, Drake, Pharrell, Kate Moss and John Mayer are oftentimes spotted sporting the emblematic brand. Over its 22-year history, the label has worked with the most groundbreaking designers, artists, photographers and musicians and now, Louis Vuitton.
Inspired by the glory days of New York artists in the ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s — legends such as Keith Haring, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Andy Warhol, Julian Schnabel and Robert Mapplethorpe — the Louis Vuitton x Supreme collection debuted with much fanfare at the men’s fall 2017 runway show in Paris. Envision a cadre of fire engine red-swathed fanny packs, denim baseball shirts, loose-fitting trousers and smartphone cases. Think New York-inspired (Read: smart, but street-smart) bags, wallets, belts, sneakers, baseball caps, bandanas, and more, all featuring both brands’ bold, unmistakable logos. The final result? Jet-set and skater vibes blend together in perfect harmony.
Supreme stuff, indeed.
