Leonardo DiCaprio makes the artsy rounds

Rockwell, the new Washington Avenue night spot, debuted Monday with major star power as Leonardo DiCaprio and Lenny Kravitz were seen mingling as eight bottles of Dom Perignon were delivered to their table. To top off the night, hip-hop legend Lupe Fiasco grabbed the mic to bring fellow party-goers a show-stopping performance including his famous hit, The Show Goes On. The best-in-show party guests also included Miami HEAT champion Dwyane Wade, Michael Bay, Lukas Hass and actor Ethan Suplee.

But now we know why a big reason DiCaprio’s really in town. Yes, he is visiting Art Fair as well as Art Basel, but the star of such movies as Titanic, The Wolf of Wall Street and currently, The Revenant has a different agenda: He interviewed Miami Beach Mayor Phillip Levine Tuesday for DiCaprio’s upcoming climate change documentary, according to the local politician’s Facebook post.

Topical that Leo is here after President Obama’s recent comments regarding our city. While in Paris for a summit on the topic of the Oscar nominee’s film, Obama (now) infamously said, “You know, you go down to Miami and when it’s flooding at high tide on a sunny day and fish are swimming through the middle of the streets – you know, that there’s a cost to that.”
