As Miami locals love to say, “We live where you vacation!”
It turns out many celebrities feel the same way. Some live here year round while others call Miami a second home and are frequently spotted on the party circuit. Then there’s your local celebs who rep the 305 to the rest of the world. It’s easy to “do Miami” like a star if you know where to go. Read on for your guide to the Miami hotspots that our favorite celebs flock to.
Can you keep up?
Love & Basketball with D. Wade
Miami Heat point guard Dwayne Wade (pictured wife Gabrielle Union) can be seen playing alongside his teammates at the American Airlines Arena during basketball season. To keep his game on point, he trains at DBC Fitness in Buena Vista. A major fashion plate, Wade attended Funkshion Fashion Week Miami Beach this year. He also hits the town with fellow teammates at spots like Brickell’s Tamarina Restaurant & Bar and enjoys grabbing brunch with Union at Jaya Restaurant at The Setai.
Real Housewife Style
Real Housewives of Miami star Alexia Echevarria is the executive editor of Spanish-language entertainment magazine Venue, so if anyone knows chic spots in Miami, it’s her. She works out at South Beach’s uber-exclusive Anatomy at 1220 and has been spotted at Matthew Kenney’s new vegan Plant Food + Wine restaurant in Wynwood. Ever the shopper, you can spot her at Saks Fifth Avenue in Bal Harbour with her son Frankie. She also enjoys the occasional Sunday afternoon poolside at The Standard Spa Miami Beach. There’s a good chance you’lls see her front row next to other Real Housewives and Bravo-lebrities at Miami Fashion Week Swim.
Fingalicking Fun with the Snapchat King
The best way to keep up with DJ Khaled in Miami is to follow him on Snapchat (@DJKHALED305). He loves to post snaps from his own Miami Fingalicking restaurant in Miami Lakes with captions like “Fan Love, Major Key.” This usually prompts swarms of teens hoping for a glimpse of the star. Otherwise, he can be found jet skiing around Biscayne Bay or at the Nixon Sandbar.
Pitbull’s gone from Mr. 305 to Mr. Worldwide and reps his city so hard he even wrote a song called Welcome to Dade County. While the pop star can be hard to spot in Miami, he still makes time to perform in the 305. The last two years he has hosted Fox’s New Year’s celebration, first at the Thompson Hotel and last year at Bayfront Park and performed at Bal Harbour Shops for Destination Fashion raising money for the Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis.
Weezy Does Itrong>
Lil Wayne lives in Miami and frequents the nightclubs. LIV on Sunday is church. He can also be found at Dream on a Wedneday with the Young Money squad sipping “Henney and soda.” While he was once a courtside regular at Heat games, Weezy was banned from the AAA a few years ago after the controversy surrounding his claim to a “romantic-situationship” with Bosh’s wife, Adrienne.

Bend it like Beckham
When British soccer superstar David Beckham is in town scoping out a venue for Miami’s soccer stadium, he never skips a meal at Lucali in Sunset Harbour, where he enjoys the Nutella Pie. He was recently spotted at new health food restaurant Dirt Eat Clean in South Beach. When wife Victoria Beckham joins him, they’ve been spotted cruising the Design District.
Keeping up with—who else?—the Kardashians
Between filming multiple reality series in Miami and a local outpost of their DASH boutique on Washington Avenue, the Kardashian sisters are frequent visitors of the 305. Most recently they were in town with Kanye to celebrate LIV club owner Dave Grutman’s wedding at Wynwood Walls, where West did another one of his mic takeovers. While here, they also dined at Grutman’s new Brickell restaurant Komodo with Larsa Pippin and other celeb friends, posting a photo of the evening on instagram. Kim and Kanye have become fixtures of the annual Art Basel bacchanal, while the sisters have been known to stay at such lavish digs as the former Versace Mansion – now known as The Villa Casa Casuarina.
Drake’s Party Circuit
With his oft-quoted rap: “Got a condo up in Biscayne” and his song 305 To My City, it’s safe to say Drake feels like Miami is a home away from home. He’s been spotted dining at Prime 112 and Zuma Restaurant and partying at Story Nightclub – Also owned by David Grutman – and E11even where he rang in the New Year.

Nina Agdal is the gorgeous Danish supermodel who graced the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. Agdal can be spotted in Miami’s Sunset Harbour neighborhood where she works out regularly at Barry’s Bootcamp and sometimes drops into yoga class at Green Monkey. She’s often seen on the town with boyfriend Reid Heidenry at Baôli or at events like Model Beach Volleyball, the
Miami Open and Irie Weekend.
