Fashion magazine WWD kicks off Art Basel in style (and with vodka)

Fashion bible Women’s Wear Daily kicked off Art Basel in style Monday night. It was an evening of art, fashion (and Belvedere vodka!) at the brand-new Paradise Plaza event space in the Miami Design District.

The pop-up exhibit showcased the cross section of fashion and art, with images from the Fairchild archive, curated by WWD’s renowned editorial team.

The collection of photographs spans 107 years, circulating the rise and decline of fashion icons and captures pivotal moments in history that range from presidential inaugurations to behind the scenes glimpses into the making of “Rosemary’s Baby.”

Notable guests included actress Jaime King, influencer Carolina Lindo and singer/songwriter A. Chal.

King,  star of Hallmark’s The Mistletoe Promise, looked flawless and posted a sexy pic on Instagram with a new set of bangs.

But things haven’t always been easy for the actress, who suffered from endometriosis and started a fashion line For Love and Lemons for women of all sizes.

King told SheKnows.com recently: “I remember when I turned 18, all of a sudden I had a completely different body, and then in my 20s, I was 60 pounds heavier [due to her illness], and it was like, I wanted to create this collection that was for every single woman. I was adamant about it.”

The WWD: The Art of Fashion runs through Thursday. Gallery hours: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Paradise Plaza, 151 NE 41st Miami. Open to the general public.
