Disney’s first Latino princess still reigns! “Elena of Avalor” just got greenlighted for a second season. “We are already seeing what an impact and connection she is making with kids and families,” Nancy Kanter, executive vice president and general manager of Disney Junior Worldwide, said in a statement of the show which airs 7:30 p.m. Fridays on Disney Channel. The Princess Elena character — aka hometown girl Aimee Carrero — was introduced at Walt Disney World in Orlando last week.
She provides the voice for the animated TV show. You may recall the actress — who attended Archbishop Coleman F. Carroll High — when she starred in that hysterical viral video “S–t Miami Girls Say — and Guys.” Carrero and her two pals imitated a few local words and sayings we all know and love such as “Irregardless,” “supposably,” and “Like, I can’t. I can’t even talk about it right now.”
