“Touch wood; we’re still going strong,” says Cheap Trick bassist Tom Petersson. The multi-platinum band hits Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino at 8 p.m. Thursday. The 65-year-old rocker is pleased that the guys still enjoy the ride and gives props to the loyal fans. “We have a really strong following,” he says by phone. “We see a lot of the same people over and over again. It’s like a family.” On the Illinois band founded in 1973 being nominated into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: “It’s nice,” Petersson allows. “We started out as kids and have kept working together. It’s not like I left a lucrative dental career to do this. Music is all we know.”
