Celebrity chef helps out old high school chum

Brian Cousineau gets by with a little help from his friends.

His annual fundraiser is coming up Saturday night at David Posnack Jewish Community Center in Davie.

Celebrity chef Michelle Bernstein has graciously offered her services for her old chum from North Miami Senior High: To cook up a private meal for 8-10 people to the highest bidder in the auction. It starts at 5K, if you’re feeling flush.

Other auction items include a Miami Dolphins helmet signed by Rishard Matthews and a guitar signed by Alice Cooper donated by the Hard Rock. Can’t make it? Text to 954-559-2421.

If you can make it, donations are being taken at the door. There will be $2 drink specials and “great” food and desserts, say organizers.

Cousineau, who lives in Pembroke Pines, has been confined to a wheelchair for almost two decades after an unsuccessful surgery to fix a spinal cyst. Also a cancer survivor, he needs financial help with ongoing medical care.
