Madison Square Garden might have Billy Joel as a permanent house act, but for the piano man’s New Year’s Eve he’s in a Sunrise state of mind. Joel, 66, announced Thursday that he will perform his first ever South Florida New Year’s Eve concert at 9:30 p.m. Dec. 31 at BB&T Center, 1 Panther Pkwy., Sunrise. Tickets, surprisingly not as pricey as one would expect for a superstar act on NYE, are $53.75-$163.75, and go on sale to American Express members at 10 a.m. Monday . General public sales begin at 10 a.m. Oct. 16 via Ticketmaster or 800-745-3000.
