To help fund Parkinson’s disease awareness, former NFL players Daunte Culpepper, Troy Drayton, and more, are putting on their game face to bring about a change, and ultimately a cure to this disease that Michael J Fox has had for a number of years. The event, noon Sunday, at The Isle Casino in Pompano Beach, is not only offering up football celebs – the grand prize is a guaranteed seat in the 2013 World Series of Poker. The casino has donated seats to their own million-dollar poker events set for each of the next four quarters. Other prizes include extended stays in Hawaii and Las Vegas. The buy in for this Parkinson’s disease related fundraiser is $200, with $100 re-buys. Each participant receives a pre-event VIP brunch at the casino. “We expect to raise $40,000 at this event to help us drive awareness for the Parkinson’s community nationwide. The purpose of our organization is to providing marketing help to those who need it; this money goes a long way,” says Bill Wilkins, Co-Founder of the Wilkins Parkinson’s Foundation, a national Parkinson’s disease awareness organization.
