Miami loves carnivores: Reports from two new meat-loving restaurants...
It's all about beer & hot dogs at Miami Beach's House of Dog on 41 Street. Located a few blocks from the Forge and outfitted with vintage Coke memorabilia, the spot offers a dozen beer-infused craft dogs and endless mix & match options for DIY eaters. Urban Daddy notes the 26 usual & not-so-usual (peaches, mandarin oranges) toppings and that each "subtle, hoppy" frank gets an injection of PBR before being cooked in it. Deli sandwiches, fries, chicken fingers & wings and over 30 rare brews are also available.
Just over the bridge, Salumeria 104 opens in Midtown this month, bringing pork pork and more pork to hungry diners. The New Times calls the spot a "candy store for meatheads," reporting that the meat counter is overflowing with sweet & salty salume, guanciale and cotechino and complimented by made-to-order sandwiches, seven pastas, four salads, five main courses and three sides. Wash it all down with an Italian-heavy wine menu starting at $20 per bottle. Thrillist notes that chef Angelo Masarin (Casa Tua, Sardinia) is the lone Florida stocker of one Parmigiano Reggiano and that salads bost produce from Paradise Farms.
