Gumball 3000 International Supercar Rally
June 4-5
Where: Lummus Park, 10th Street and Ocean Drive, Miami Beach

The annual British 3,000-mile international supercar rally kicks off on South Beach with a car show and concert. This year's trek will take the 120 "supercar" drivers from Miami to Ibiza on a seven-day adventure across the globe. From South Beach, the cars will head north to Atlanta and end the U.S. leg of their trek in New York where they will be loaded onto cargo planes headed for Scotland to continue their journey.

Miami Underwater Festival
June 7-8

"Dive in" to this annual festival held in celebration of World Oceans Day with a series of events that explore the planet's oceans. On Sunday, June 8 from noon-4 p.m., the festival will continue at Knight Plaza, adjacent to the new Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science (slated to open in 2015 at 1103 Biscayne Blvd., Miami).

Coral Gables Restaurant Week
June 9-29

Revisit old favorites and discover new ones during Coral Gables Restaurant Week (actually more like three weeks) with participating restaurants offering a three-course fixed-price lunch and/or dinner menus at discounted prices.

Summer Shorts Festival
June 12-July 6

Summer Shorts offers a ninety minute program of award-winning short plays from the country's best playwrights including City Theatre National Short Play Competition winners.

2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil
June 12-July 13
Where: Various locations throughout Miami

No, Miami is obviously not Rio de Janeiro, but local soccer fans will be taking over every public space with a wide screen television and drink specials starting June 12 when the World Cup action kicks off with Brazil going up against Croatia, followed by Friday's rematch of 2010 champs Spain against the Netherlands. The United States takes on Ghana on June 16 and June 17 Brazil faces off with Mexico, so no matter where you choose to watch, expect Caipirinhas and Margaritas.

Taste of the Nation

'The Amazing Adventures of Dr. Wonderful (and her dog!)'

Science is a blast when a brainy girl who goes by the name of Dr. Wonderful takes off into space on an amazing adventure with her dog in this family-friendly musical.

Irie Weekend
June 19-21

Celebs and pro athletes invade Miami for Irie Weekend, a nonstop lineup of events including celebrity golf and bowling tournaments, a VIP Welcome Reception and parties throughout the weekend. The event is to raise funds for the IRIE Foundation, an organization that helps at-risk youth.

Redland Summer Fruit Festival
June 21-22
