Bikinis, monokinis, pareos, hats, svelte models — expect everything but water at the upcoming Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim shows. The annual event is making its fifth spectacular splash at The Raleigh Hotel from July 15th to the 19th.
The five-day, invite-only production draws glossy magazine editors, department store buyers and boutique owners, most of whom are already in town to attend the massive, annual trade show by the Swimwear Association of Florida at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
The gist? Fashion, beauty, supermodels and celebrities flock to sultry shores of SoBe to celebrate the sexiest swimwear designs in the world. This year’s fashion show designers include Aqua Di Lara, A.Z. Araujo, Aquarella Swimwear, Beach Bunny Swimwear, Caffé Swimwear, Cia.Martíma, Crystal Jin, Dolores Cortés, Ed Hardy, inca, Kooey Swimwear Australia, Lisa Blue, Lisa Maree, Luli Fama, Mara Hoffman Swim, Marysia Swim, Naila, Nicolita, Olasul, Parke & Ronen, Poko Pano, Qiss Qiss, Red Carter, Trina Turk, True Religion, Tyler Rose and White Sands Australia.
This particular year, Trina Turk snagged the “Mercedes-Benz Presents” designer title and will be kicking off the fashion show folly with the debut of her Spring 2011 swimwear collection at the Raleigh on July 15th. Expect Turk’s signature bold prints in dizzying colors.
Aside from The Raleigh Hotel, several swim shows will be peppered throughout venues on Miami Beach such as Nikki Beach, The Setai, Bass Museum and more.
