Maya Indie Film Series

 

This year's Maya Indie Film Series brings us six critically-acclaimed, Latino-themed films.

The Maya Indie Film Series makes a stop in Miami on its eight-city tour, offering screenings of critically-acclaimed, Latino-themed movies. The films will all be screened at The Regal Palace 18 (11865 SW 26th St., Miami), with daily screenings of each film from August 20-26.

The six films in the series include:

The Kid: Chamaco, a bi-lingual drama about a Mexican boxer starring Martin Sheen, Alex Parea, and Michael Madsen.

Backyard: Mexican thriller starring Jimmy Smits, Ana de la Reguera, and Joaquin Cosio.

Chasing 3000: A family film about Roberto Clemente starring Ray Liotta and Rory Culkin.

In Therapy: A Brazilian comedy starring Lilia Cabral and Jose Mayer.

Tropico De Sangre: Michelle Rodriguez and Juan Fernandez star in this film based on the true story of the Mirabal sisters.

Solo Quiero Caminar: A thriller starring Diego Luna and Jose Maria Yazpik.
