Have a Fling

The 2nd annual Spring Fling Luncheon will take place on Wednesday, May 5th at noon at La Goulue restaurant in the Bal Harbour Shops, presented by the Humane Society of Greater Miami’s PALs (Pets are Love) Committee. A portion of the proceeds from the luncheon will benefit the organization.  Pooches are welcome and guests are encouraged to dress in floral-motif outfits to celebrate spring. Tee Off!

Dozens will be teeing off on Friday May 7 at the Doral Golf Resort and Spa’s famed Blue Monster course to raise funds for Mercy Hospital, which turns 60 this December.  This year’s event will be particularly significant because it comes on the heels of the Foundation’s $148,000 donation toward Mercy’s purchase of the superDimension® i·Logic™ System, which is revolutionizing diagnosis of lung cancer and lung-related diseases.  Registration and lunch start at 11:30 a.m., tee-off is at 1 p.m.  For reservations, contact Ady Arrieta at 305.285.2711. 

 

Harley Dog Days IX Fundraiser to Benefit PAWS
 
Celebrating fashion for a cause, Lilac and Lilies Boutique is hosting a fashion show and pop-up boutique at the 9th Annual Harley Dog Days event benefitting PAWS (Pets Are Worth Saving) and the Humane Society of Broward County.  More than 500 guests are expected to attend the fundraiser dinner which takes place on Saturday, May 8th at the beautiful, waterfront estate home of PAWS’ honorary chairs, Ron Picou and Michelle DiMarco, celebrity stylist and owner of Lilac And Lilies. Guests will enjoy cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, a fashion show, music and intimate dinner with a live auction and tribute to the late Bruce Rossmeyer. Doc Reno from Big 105 will serve as emcee. Friends Dinner

Miami Light Project is presenting their annual Friends Dinner fundraiser on Saturday, May 8, at 7:30 p.m. at their brand new 14,000 square foot Wynwood arts space, The Light Box at Goldman Warehouse.  This year’s Friends Dinner will honor visionary developer Tony Goldman and feature performances by Miami-based fusion band, ¡MAYDAY! and performance troupe Circ X. A scrumptious supper will be served by Thierry’s Catering with décor provided by Las Tias, the charming Wynwood vintage store. Other sponsors include Ocean Drive Magazine, Heineken and Wish. Eighth annual FedEx/St. Jude Angels & Stars Miami Gala 

The highly anticipated Eighth Annual FedEx/St. Jude Angels & Stars Miami Gala takes place at the Intercontinental Hotel on Saturday, May 15 from 7 p.m. until midnight.  The gala promises to be a star-studded affair, with hosts, Daisy Fuentes, Lili Estefan and Javier Romero, and Latin Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter Juanes, who will receive the 2010 Al Rashid Hope Award.   A multitude of other Latin celebrities from the television and music industries will also be in attendance.

This year’s Masquerade- themed party will include a silent auction and performances by some of today's hottest Latin chart-topping artists.  Proceeds will support groundbreaking research and lifesaving care provided by St. Jude for children across the country and around the world. Fashion Art Ball is sure to be FAB!

Michelle and Tommy Pooch and Alan Roth present the 12th Annual Fashion Art Ball, set for Saturday, May 15, at 8 p.m. at the recently renovated Gansevoort Hotel in Miami Beach. This wonderful, eclectic event will include a star-studded fashion show, a silent auction highlighting the works of local artists, and special entertainment. Guests will also be treated to an open bar, and food from local restaurants including B.E.D., Casale Pizzeria, David’s Café, Grill on the Alley, Meat Market, RA Sushi, Segafredo and Yogurbella. All proceeds benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  Willard Shepard from NBC6 and Buster Cox from A3 TV will serve as emcees.
