Miami Gay & Lesbian Film Festival

South Beach based festival that features ten days of screenings of culturally diverse film, video and other media that offer historical and contemporary perspectives on the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender experience.

 

MIAMI Museum Month
May 1-31

During May, all visitors and locals will be offered "Buy One, Get One Free" admission at participating museums. Also, membership at any one of these participating museums will work as a free pass to any of the other museums.

Mainly Mozart Festival
May 1-June 3

Now in its 19th season, the Miami Music Project's Mainly Mozart Festival presents a series of six chamber concerts by esteemed local ensembles and soloists presenting diverse and interesting programs and providing insight and commentary on some of the most beloved music.

Aqua Girl
May 2-6

Now in its 13th year, Aqua Girl attracts women who love women for a jam-packed week of dance parties, a comedy show, live music, pool parties, a bowlathon, a jazz brunch, a dine-out event, a VIP reception, celebrity meet-and-greets and more. 100% of the proceeds from Aqua Girl benefit the Aqua Foundation for Women, a not-for-profit-foundation whose primary mission is to serve as a funding catalyst for lesbian, bisexual, and transgender wellness and equality in South Florida through grants, scholarships, and initiatives.

 


Volvo Ocean Race MIAMI

May 6-20

The Volvo Ocean Race, an extreme global sailing race widely known as the ‘Everest of Sailing’, docks in Miami with plenty of activities that are free and open to the public. Attracting more than 200,000 visitors, over 27 acres in Downtown Miami will house the Downtown Miami Race Village, which will provide tourists, sailing enthusiasts and locals a place to “Sea and be Seen” with an international and interactive race village with cultural arts, music entertainment, food and more.

Redland International Orchid Festival

Browse from more than 50 vendors from all over the world, sit in on lectures, enjoy walking tours of Fruit & Spice Park and shop for arts & crafts at this annual festival dedicated to orchids.

 

Cuba Nostalgia

Cuba Nostalgia, in its 14th year, takes visitors on a journey back in time for those who remember the island’s glamorous heydays and for those who never experienced them. There will be live Cuban exhibits, artists and vendors, traditional Cuban foods, and of course, music.

 

 

Exxxotica Expo

Arguably the largest adult-themed consumer show in America, the Exxxotica Expo rolls into Miami yearly for a celebration of all things sexy. The expo also puts on star panel discussions by renowned members of the adult entertainment community, blush-inducing burlesque numbers and sex-ified game-show parodies. Exxotica features erotica stars such as Stoya, Gracie Glam, Maddy O'Reilly and Tory Lane.
 

Sizzle MIAMI

Sizzle Miami is a celebrated and anticipated urban gay event for party-seekers from around the world to celebrate life, pride and party. Originally a one-day occurrence, Sizzle Miami has evolved into a 5-day event of daytime soirees and pulsating nightlife.

 


Urban Beach Week

May 25-28

Bringing together a multiethnic community during Memorial Day weekend, Urban Beach Week is an annual event that holds festivities promoting unity and pride. UBW holds events and provides entertainment, food, music, and other activities that attract hundreds of thousands to South Beach each year including The Best of the Best Concert, which takes place May 27 and features some of the hottest acts in hip hop, reggae and R&B.
