The second annual Shop Miami Month runs through the entire month of March and offers shoppers specials and gifts from South Florida’s top malls and retailers.

There’s no time like the present to shop in Miami. Literally. How so? The second annual Shop Miami Month runs through the entire month of March and offers shoppers specials and gifts from South Florida’s top malls and retailers. In other words, get more bang for your bucks, customers.

“The intention of Shop Miami Month is to showcase the destination’s world-renowned marketplaces and retail establishments while rewarding consumers with money-saving incentives,” Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau Executive Vice President Rolando Aedo says. Participating malls include Bayside Marketplace, Dadeland Mall, Dolphin Mall, The Falls Shopping Center, Mary Brickell Village, Merrick Park, Miami International Mall and Southland Mall.

The enticements? Aside from that all-too-familiar shopper’s high, consumers can score discounts and even the chance to win a $1,000 gift card and luxe getaway at The Eden Roc Hotel. As for those savings, for example, visitors shopping at Bloomingdale's at Aventura Mall or at The Falls receive a 15 percent off certificate valid for one week of shopping. “If you visit for Shop Miami Month, you’ll explore Miami’s rich heritage of neighborhoods to discover the sights, sounds and flavors of these diverse cultures and find treasures of trendsetting items, from unique fashions to cutting-edge home décor,” GMCVB President & CEO William D. Talbert says. Now in its second season, Shop Miami Month is a natural addition to the Visitors Bureau’s Temptation Program. “Through this initiative, we organize carefully crafted, money-saving programs which take a thematic focus on the best that Miami has to offer — such as dining, spas and attractions — throughout the year,” Aedo explains.

And while our stretches of postcard-perfect beaches appear to be South Florida’s number one draw in terms of tourism, shopping comes in at a close second. “Miami is an international gateway and a shopping destination for both global and domestic visitors. Our tropical cosmopolitan climate serves as a fashionable backdrop for modeling shoots and world-renowned fashion events such as Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim,” Aedo says. Not to mention, Miami is home to a spate of first-in-Florida-market retailers such as Berluti, adidas by Stella McCartney, Versace outlet, Del Pozo, Christian Liagre and Gucci Kids outlet. “Miami is a must-stop destination for leading designers as well as the serious shopper,”Aedo adds.
