Key Biscayne gets "Colombian Chic," SoBe meets affordable seafood and more as March takes root in South Florida...

• “Colombian chic” meets Key Biscayne this season as Aracataca opens its doors. Named after the Colombian city where Gabriel Garcia Marquez wrote One Hundred Years Of Solitude, the restaurant blends its namesake country’s Africa, European, Arab and Chinese heritages. Menu highlights include butternut squash soup, blood sausage brochette (pictured), steak tartare and guanabana fruit flan.
• Tonino Lamborghini, whose father introduced the world to the eponymous sports car, hopes to do parlay Italian style & decadence into the new Caffe Cosa at Hallendale’s Village of Gulfstream Park. The menu features homemade pastas, pizzas and traditional desserts, with such signature dishes as penne alla Bolognese, branzino al forno and la Milanese (veal with arugula, tomato & lemon dressing).
• Bite into grilled shrimp, seaweed salad and blackened tuna Catch 10 Seafood Bistro’s fish-friendly SoBe location. Located in the old Coral House on Washington Ave (now a part of the Hotel Indigo), the restaurant dishes out moderately-priced breakfast, lunch and dinner daily.
• The hunt for a fried bologna sandwich has officially ended – Picnic is open for biz. The cozy restaurant is open 22 hours a day in the old Sea Rock space (by the Jetsons Publix), dishing out comfort food, brunch and greasy deliciousness. Go light with soup & half a sandwich or indulge with the baconaisse sandwich of the day, red velvet cake or French baked eggs.
• Food meets fashion as the Versace Mansion is officially converted in Barton G’s latest lair of fine dining. The SoBe cater & restaurateur famed for out-of-the-box presentations (think swordfish skewered on a sword) presents Villa By Barton G. Pack your wallets (entrees start at $31) and prep your stomach for the likes of breast of duck and foie gras, Key West pompano and lobster with lobster stuffed tortellini.
