HARAJUKU CULTURE
Harajuku (原宿) refers to the area around Tokyo's Harajuku Station. It is the center of Japan's most extreme teenage subcultures and fashion styles. Teens often dress up in crazy costumes to resemble a fictional or iconic character from a band, game, movie or cartoon.

She is a fashion designer best known for her flirty and whimsical designs. She is known for doing a cartwheel at the end of her fashion shows.

La Chica Miami of the week is Pamela Wasabi, a colorful doll obsessed with Japanese Harajuku culture.
This Colombian moved to Miami as a teen, and earned an associate's degree in fashion on 2003, while working as a designer. In 2007, she moved to Paris, where she lived for about a year.
Her bright flashy dreadlocks are impossible to miss. She usually has a camera on her, so if she likes your style, she may snap a photo and post it on her site Wasabi Fashion Kult or a New Times' blog.
We asked Pamela to fill in the blanks:
My favorite best-kept secret about Miami is . . . The sky is pink.
My favorite cuisine to indulge in is . . . Vegan. Mi Vida Café, Thrive on the beach, and Lost and Found Saloon (Wynwood).
To stay in shape, my fitness regime is . . . Boxing… and smiling.
To get away from it all, I go to …roadtrippin' with Duke (Her boyfriend Alexander Duke).
When I’m in the mood for some retail therapy, I must visit . . . Betsey Johnson
My purse must absolutely contain …Pen and Paper, or camera.
When I’m in the mood to paint the town red, I go to . . . Bar-hop Wynwood and Downtown, ending up at The Vagabond.
My favorite ride is . . . my MINI, my longboard.
My ideal companions are . . . Family, which also includes friends and my pet.
When I was a little girl, I remember … Wearing a Snow White dress and red lipstick to school, and it was not Halloween.
I most look forward to … Going to Tokyo.
