Katana Japanese Restaurant

Be transported to an aka-chocin (pub) in Japan at Katana, named for a samurai sword. Sit at the long U-shaped bar and watch little boats filled with sushi go round and round in a "moat" filled with flowing water. There are four-piece rolls and pairs of sushi priced by the color of the plate from $1.50 to $3.50. The plates are piled up and counted at the end of the night for the final bill. With beer, sake or plum wine a meal here is still a bargain and entertaining. House specials are the fresh mango and snapper tempura roll and volcano scallops baked on the shell topped with crabstick and mayo lava. Cooked appetizers include gyoza, beef, salmon or shrimp teriyaki, and various tempura combinations. There’s also udon noodles and rice bowls.
