Rooftop dining arrives on South Beach this month as Juvia opens on Lincoln Rd. The 10,000-square-foot indoor/outdoor restaurant will sit atop the penthouse of 1111 Lincoln Rd.
Named after a Brazilian nut tree and owned and operated by Jonas and Alexandra Millan of Bonito restaurant in St. Barth, Juvia will feature a vertical garden, a retractable roof and open kitchen. Executive chefs Laurent Cantineaux, (Daniel Boulud protégé) and Sunny Oh (Nobu South Beach) are promising “a harmonious blend of the regional cuisines of Asia prepared with classic French techniques and the vibrant flavors and ingredients of South America and Florida.” Think hamachi and salmon crudos, king crab legs, Magret duck salad, Indian-spiced chicken vadouvan, Chilean sea bass and Hawaiian blue prawns with sugarcane.
The fun begins “mid-Feb” – updates coming soon.
