Japanese Masters Film Festival
Wednesday, April 2
Japanese film has caché. American directors draw inspiration from it, and film students celebrate its brilliance. It is the international cinema of the moment. The ability to speak about Kurosawa's influence on Hollywood or dissect the composition of an Ozu film will validate one's status as a film aficionado.
For the next three weeks Miami residents will have the chance to view films from this storied national cinema at the Cosford's Japanese Masters Film Festival. The festival will cover the zenith of Japanese cinema by screening films from Ozu, Kurosawa, Mizoguchi and more. All films will be presented on 35mm film.
