For conference

Chris Blackwell, the hotelier who made The Marlin the stop for major recording artists such as U2 and Mick Jagger back in the South Beach halcyon days of the 1990s, is returning to his old stomping grounds Monday through Wednesday for the invite-only LE Miami — a conference that, says a publicist, “has the coolest, most unique and most luxurious hotels from around the world participating.” Blackwell’s Island Outpost properties in Jamaica include some very high-end clientele as well from Jay-Z and Beyoncé to the late, great Bob Marley. While in Miami, Blackwell is throwing a party for his fellow hospitality moguls who will also be in town — Ian Schrager, Andre Balazs and Seth Godin, among others. As for any famous folk, well, says our source, “where there’s a Blackwell, there’s always a Marley.”
