A big party from 8:30 p.m. to midnight Thursday at the Mosaic Building, 161 NE 40th Street, celebrates the opening of Haiti Art Expo 2010, running from Thursday-Sunday and featuring the works of Haitian artists who've never displayed works outside the island. Presented by Plum TV's Jerry Powers, promoter Michael Capponi, who has helped in relief efforts, and Haitian relief advocate Jeff Feldman, the party is hosted by Venus Williams, Haitian-born World Welterweight championship boxer Andrea Berto and Fabrice and Patrick Tardieu of the clothing line Bogosse. All sale proceeds will benefit relief efforts in Haiti facilitated by United Way of Miami-Dade. To attend, e-mail RSVP@capponnigroup.com. The expo will also be open to the public on Sunday.
