Grab your favorite carnivore and head to ZooMiami for a three-day BBQ bonanza at Ribfest Nov 2-4. Enjoy live music (including headliners Molly Hatchet & James Otto), a classic car show, photo ops with the Zoo Squad (Gigi the giraffe, Kaz the rhino and Pio the red-billed oxpecker), a kids zone, discounted ZooMiami admission and a cook-off contest. National ribbers will compete in five categories: best ribs, beef brisket, pork, chicken and sauce.
2012 marks the return of Ribfest after a two-year hiatus. The event debuted in 2004 as part of the Miami-Dade Parks 75th anniversary celebration at the Homestead Air Reserve Park. It's expected to be "stronger than ever" this year at its new, more centralized Zoo Miami location.
