The goods: Wynwood’s “secret gastronomic studio” Copperbox is now open to the public for dinner Thursday and Saturday.
Ambience: Housed in a former woodworking shop, 24-seat Copperbox pairs a raw, industrial vibe with expensive glassware, two linen-clad tables, a wine butler and oversized photos of Manhattan.
The grub: Modern cuisine with a nod to French and Asian techniques. Venezuelan chef-owner Gabriela Machado creates five- to seven-course, wine-paired feasts. Dinners are $125 per person.
Menus vary, but expect high-end ingredients like foie gras, edible flowers and sparkling gold leaf. Notable dishes include foie gras crème brulee, poached golden lobster, Hackleback caviar on potato brunoise, duck breast with sunchoke puree and cotija cake with beet ice cream.
Verdict: A private supper club in Wynwood with an elegant, intimate feel.
