Free comic books for all
Saturday is Free Comic Book Day around the world, and that means you can get a free comic book from participating shops. You can choose from one of 53 titles, though you may not find all titles in all stores. At least two shops in Miami-Dade and five in Broward are participating.
Free (and discounted) movies
We found one free outdoor movie this weekend. It’s at the North Shore Park Bandshell in Miami Beach, where you can see “Raiders of The Lost Ark” at 8 p.m. Friday. If you’d rather see a film indoors, you can get a buy one, get one free movie ticket deal on Fridays through Aug. 2 using Fandango and your Visa Signature Card.
Museums on Us (and for less)
If it rains this weekend, plan to visit a local museum. It’s Miami Museum Month, which means buy one, get one free admission at 23 Miami-Dade museums. Plus, if you have a membership at one participating museum, you can get in free at all the others in May. It’s the first weekend of the month, which means free admission to a number of South Florida museums for Bank or America and Merrill Lynch debit or credit card holders. The Miami Science Museum has its first Friday free planetarium show, and the Gold Coast Railroad Museum is free on Saturday. The Wolfsonian-FIU is free every Friday evening.
Festivals for all
Two free festivals this weekend will provide entertainment for both adults and children.
