Feast on wallet-friendly pizza & wine at Thea's Pizzeria in Wynwood
Thea's Pizzeria
1951 NW 7 Ave, Miami

The goods: Restaurateur Thea Goldman (Joey’s) opens Thea’s Pizzeria, a handsome new spot for pizza and wine adjacent to Wynwood’s UM Life Science and Technology Park.
Ambience: The neo-industrial space is outfitted with molded black chairs, polished concrete floors and a striking Bisazza floral mosaic. The restaurant is currently open for breakfast and lunch and plans to roll out dinner in the next month.
The grub: Thin-crust pizzas and gourmet salads at moderate prices. Wines by the glass average $6, pizzas $11-$14, salads $7 and mains $16.
There’s gourmet detail here: gratis Italian bread is made with Italian flour and buffalo mozzarella by a former baker at Mario Batali’s Eataly; margarita pizzas blend cheese and tangy tomato sauce; and artichoke pizzas combine artichoke purée, grana padano cheese and fresh arugula. Salads include roasted beet with gorgonzola and walnuts; charcuterie boards carry prosciutto, salami and mortadella; and mains bring skirt steak and seared salmon. End on a sweet note with traditional canola, gelato and espresso granita.
Verdict: A wallet-friendly spot for thin-crust pizzas and Italian wine.
