With Miami's "season" kicking in, allow us to parlay a novel fashion-forward event in Downtown Miami. Commencing November 1, 2013, Fashionable First Fridays will launch with the idea to shop, socialize and mingle with Miami-based talents. Coinciding with First Friday Art Walks at McCormick Place, revelers can expect goods from local boutiques, designers amd artists, bites from popular food trucks, cocktails and beats from a live DJ. We chat up Fashionable First Fridays coordinator and Owner of L.A. Boudoir Miami Lauren Arkin on the even't details.
What is the gist of Fashionable First Fridays? Fashionable First Fridays is a new event to the already popular First Friday Art Walks at McCormick Place that brings a art and fashion fushion to Downtown Miami and McCormick Place. People can come by after work and start their weekend off with shopping from local boutiques, designers and artisans. Eat from popular food trucks, listen to tunes by a live DJ, sip on refreshments, and enjoy the latest art collections and installations from the resident artists.
Which designers will be participating? So far Blu Lua Jewels & Gifts, Trinkets for D and Barbarica.
What can guests anticipate? Guests can expect to get a multi sensory experience upon entering McCormick Place.
Is this event free and open to the public? Yes the event is free and open to all
How much do vendors have to pay? Vendors pay $90 and we are still accepting vendors. If anyone is interested in vendoring please contact myself at (305) 775-8127.
What is the crux of this novel event? Fashionable First Fridays concept was created to bring a more diverse art/fashion scene to Downtown Miami and McCormick Place. Our venue, McCormick Place, is already a melting pot of resident artist studios including Eleazar Delgado, Eva Marcela Avila and Andres Conde plus many other artists. So it was only natural to bring more of the fashion industry to this creative space.
Talk to us about the food and spirits aspect. So far, food trucks such as Motys Grill and Ms Cheezious are lined up. There will also be liquour sponsor.
