Coral Gables Couture Designer Launches RTW
Victoria Lopez Castro debuts capsule collection
4/22/2012
Victoria Lopez Castro recently launched her Ready-To-Wear collection called VLC. We chatted up the designer who has a boutique inside the Shops of Merrick Park on what made her go from couture creations to more affordable pieces.
Why did you decide to launch this collection? The main reason was the constant requests from my clients. They have enjoyed for years the pieces they have worn from the couture collection and there was a need to keep the pieces stylish but ready to pick up and take with them at any moment.
What inspired VLC? The climate was a big factor in designing this capsule collection so I wanted to keep the fabrics light with beautiful colors. Most of the fabrics are light silk based fabrics and light synthetics.
How many pieces are in the collection? 10 to 12 pieces that are interchangeable
VPL retails for? $220-$525
In regards to design, who do you create clothing for? Women who enjoy stylish clothing whether they spent a fortune or not.
