Those lucky enough to stop by The Standard hotel during the South Beach Wine and Food Festival for the event Cocktail Time! With Sandra Lee - host of the Emmy-nominated Food and Wine Network show Semi-Homemade cooking with Sandra Lee - will have a chance to savor four savory cocktails that are easy enough to whip up in the comfort of your own home. "I very rarely throw an 'everybody's invited' type of cocktail soiree, and this is the closest to it," said Lee. "Everybody who buys a ticket knows that proceeds go to charity, and will have a chance to taste three cocktails and one secret one that will be unveiled that evening."

Lee said that the cocktails include such easy-to-find items as club soda, gin, lemon juice and pink lemonade. "The whole concept behind the cocktails are that they also contain things that you might have in your pantry and cupboard anyway," she said. "You can mix them in new ways and they look and taste great, so you don't have to give up style because you are on a budget."

And if this event isn't in your budget either, here's how to mix like a master in the comfort of your own home.

Pink Lemonade Spritzer

Add 1/2 cup of Citron vodka and 4 tablespoons of pink lemonade mix to a large pitcher. Add 1 1/2 cups pineapple juice and one 12-ounce can of lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage and stir well. In a shallow dish, add a small amount of water or lemonade spritzer. In another small shallow dish, add desired amount
of sanding sugar. Dip rims of 6 glasses into liquid mixture and then into sanding sugar to garnish, if desired. Divide ice between glasses. Pour lemonade over top. Serve immediately.

Lemon-Cucumber Cocktail

In a large pitcher, combine a 10-ounce bottle of club soda, 1 cup of gin and 1/4 cup of lemon juice. Place a lemon and cucumber slice into each glass, top off with 1 cup of crushed ice. Pour gin mixture into glasses. Garnish with fresh mint, if desired. Makes 12 servings.
