Catherine Zeta Jones opens up about depression

Catherine Zeta Jones has opened up about her struggle with bipolar disorder so she could help others.

“There is no need to suffer silently, and there is no shame in seeking help,’’ said the actress, who appears on the cover of the latest issue of People.

Even though her husband Michael Douglas successfully finished cancer treatment, a source tells the magazine Zeta Jones couldn’t shake feeling down.

A few weeks ago, while shooting the romantic comedy Playing the Field, the 41-year-old Welsh beauty realized she needed to check in to a mental facility. She spent five days in a Connecticut hospital and is now on medication.

Zeta Jones likely has had bipolar disorder (a mental illness with symptoms of depression and euphoria) for some time, but the stress of Douglas’ cancer could have triggered it, say experts.

All in the family

Lorenzo Lamas has a lot to celebrate: He has a new wife and is soon to be a grandpa.

The former Falcon Crest star, 53, reportedly got married over the weekend to his fifth bride, Shawna Craig, 30 years his junior (yes, his fourth wife was named Shauna too; what are the odds?).

Now, daughter Shayne is pregnant. The former Bachelor winner, 25, is married to The Dirty.com founder Nik Richie. Things moved quickly for the couple, who wed in Vegas within hours of meeting in April 2010.

Shayne was briefly engaged to Brit Bachelor Matt Grant.

I’m too pretty?

Judge Bruno’s love couldn’t save Petra Nemcova.

The supermodel’s lowest overall score got her voted off Dancing with the Stars.

But being on the hit show was an achievement for the Czech beauty, 31. In 2004, she was badly injured in the tsunami while vacationing in Thailand. Her fiancé, photographer Simon Atlee, was killed.

Nemcova, who is rumored to be engaged to English actor Jamie Belman, credits her partner Dmitry Chaplin for her graceful moves. “I danced like an elephant; now I dance like a butterfly,’’ she told ABC News.

It’s scary out there

Cops are investigating two death threats against Rebecca Black, the 13-year-old singer of the viral pop hit Friday.

According to Anaheim, Calif., police spokesman Rick Martinez, “the threats were related to getting the music off the Internet or they were going to kill her.’’

In related news, Paul Michael Glaser has a stalker. TMZ reports the Starksy & Hutch star, 68, has asked for a restraining order against a woman who used to run his website. In court documents, Glaser says the woman exhibits “irrational’’ behavior, such as attending a play he was in 23 times, and he fears for his safety.
