Carrie Underwood and Queen Latifah to sing at Super Bowl
These ladies will make you feel proud to be Americans as they sing during the pre-game show.
Sure, she can sing about cheating boyfriends, busting up cars and family drama -- but can she sing the National Anthem without tripping over those high notes? We probably don't need to worry about four-time Grammy winner Carrie Underwood since the American Idol grad is used to singing in front of huge audiences. She now joins the ranks of entertainers like Beyonce Knowles, Billy Joel, Natalie Cole, Mariah Carey and (our personal fave) Whitney Houston, to sing our country's hymn at the Big Game.
Ready to bring you to tears with patriotic enthusiasm as well will be Queen Latifah, who will bust out 'America, the Beautiful.' Our favorite rapper turned actress turned singer will have us all longing to find some spacious skies and fruited plains as she sings to the beauty of the America of lord knows how many years past. She's among only six other artists to perform this song to Super Bowl audiences.
With these glorious songs dedicated to our great nation, these great singers will remind you that we are still fighting for the freedom to watch men run around in tights and hit each other over the heads as we do kegstands in a parking lot. God bless America.
