It's not easy being a Hogan these days.
Just ask Brooke Hogan, Hulk's daughter and costar of VH1's now defunct Hogan Knows Best, filmed in Tampa and Miami.
Can we say family turmoil?
Quick recap: After the reality show wrapped, Hulk, 54, and wife Linda, 48, announced they were divorcing after 24 years of marriage. Maybe having cameras around 24/7 was too much to bear. Or maybe they were both having simultaneous midlife crises.
Linda has now turned power cougar, dating Charlie Hill, a 19-year-old who fixes boats for a living. To make matters even more embarrassing, Hill was actually a schoolmate of Brooke's.
Not to be outdone, the pro wrestler formerly known as Terry Bollea got a peroxided-out young thing of his own, Jennifer McDaniel, 34.
Oh, and brother Nick. He's got the biggest issues. The 17-year-old is serving eight months in Pinellas County Jail in Clearwater for reckless driving, stemming from a car crash that left his friend paralyzed.
At least Brooke has a reality show to keep up her spirits. It's called - ironically - Brooke Knows Best, debuting 10 p.m. Sunday on VH1.
The premise: Brooke has moved to Miami Beach with two buddies to have fun - the way any 20-year-old unattached, attractive reality star from a dysfunctional family should.
She gave us a few minutes on her press tour:
Tell us about the show.
It's absolutely crazy. It's about celebrating my newfound freedom. I go on adventures in South Beach with my two friends Ashley [Menendez], my best friend since we were 5, and Glenn [Packard], my choreographer.
Sounds like you had fun filming.
This has been a really stressful time in my life. I'm the type of person to hole up and go into hibernation when bad stuff happens. I'm not a club-type person but they managed to get me out dancing. They kind of loosened me up.
Are you used to cameras being around now?
Now I am. I used to see them as invasive flies on the wall.
Any favorite episodes?
One was really silly. I was a prom date for a 15-year-old kid who had won a contest.
Do you watch reality TV?
I'm obsessed with I Love New York and Rock of Love.
How does Miami compare to Tampa?
Tampa is like Retirementville. Miami has so much diversity -- you can always meet new kinds of people.
Do you like wrestling?
I don't know a single thing about it. I just know it looks like it hurts, especially when the blood starts flowing.
Do your parents appear on the show?
I brought my mom along to stripper class. We learned how to work out on the pole. She looks so funny. My dad helped me move in [in the first episode].
What do you think about your mom dating a guy so much younger?
I'm very disappointed. I love her to death but I don't condone it.
What about your dad?
Jennifer McDaniel is a total angel. She's very, very sweet and definitely of age.
How is Nick doing?
He's doing great. At first it was hard. But he's in the general population and is coming around.
Will he be able to watch your show?
No, he doesn't have access.
