The 4th of July happens next Friday, which means only one thing - FIREWORKS! Here's where you can check them out.

SOUTH BEACH: Celebrate with music by DJ Irie. The event is free and open to the public. Arrive early, bring beach chairs and towels. No coolers or bottles will be permitted on the beach. The celebration takes place at 7:30 p.m. at 8th St. and Ocean Dr. Fireworks begin at 9 p.m. Among the public parking available is the garage at 7th St. and Collins Avenue. Free bus shuttle transportation from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. from Collins Ave. and 72 & 81 streets to Washington Ave. & 11 Street. For more information, call 305.673.7400.

KEY BISCAYNE: Nothing like a July 4th parade on Key Biscayne, featuring music, floats and fireworks. Parade begins along Crandon Boulevard at 11 a.m. and festivities conclude with fireworks at sunset.

BAYFRONT PARK: Live music and food booths highlight the festivities until dark when the fireworks take over the celebration. The display will be best seen at the ampitheatre but can also be enjoyed from downtown. Celebration begins at 5 p.m. with fireworks launched at 9 p.m. 301 Biscayne Blvd, Miami; 305-358-7550.

HOMESTEAD: The celebration isn’t just at the beach or downtown. At the Homestead Sports Complex gates open at 7:30 p.m. with fireworks at 8:30 p.m. City of Homestead Department of Parks and Recreation; 305-224-4570.

COCONUT GROVE: Fireworks will end the free festivities at Peacock Park which begin at 4 p.m. The musical lineup starts with DJ David G followed at 6 p.m. with Blue Man Grove. First October performs at 7 p.m. until the fireworks begin at approximately 9 p.m. with DJ David G and a surprise guest. Parking is available at Coconut Grove Elementary. THE BARNACLE: From 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. the Monroe House will be opened to visitors for tours. There will be children’s activities, kite-making, knot demonstrations, and other period-inspired activities. You’re invited to bring a picnic lunch, but you should make other dinner plans: there are no fireworks at this celebration, Barnacle State Historic Site, 3485 Main Highway, Coconut Grove; (305) 442-6866.

SUNNY ISLES BEACH: Head over to the Acqualina Resort from noon to 4 p.m. for their barbeque. Hightlights include fashions by designer Carlos Miele, live Mediterranean music, specialty cocktails and gourmet barbeque favorites such as dry and wet St. Louis Ribs, hamburgers grilled to order, grilled chicken wings with cool blue cheese, grilled Mahi Mahi, four kinds of potato salad, a pasta bar from Il Mulino New York, gelato, and an array of desserts. The City of Sunny Isles Beach is also offering a private dinner cruise aboard the Sir Winston Luxury Yacht.  The night cruise (8 p.m. – 10 p.m.) will run north along the intracoastal waterway from Sunny Isles Beach to Hollywood. Sir Winston is a full-service vessel which offers freshly prepared cuisine, and music. Admission is $30 per person for residents and $55 for non-residents. Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis until June 25 at the Sunny Isles Beach Government Center (18070 Collins Ave.). Boarding Time is 7:45 p.m. at Bella Vista Bay Park, 500 Sunny Isles Boulevard.
