Nic del Mar
It’s 90 degrees out, folks. What’s that mean? Bounce on over to just opened Nic del Mar beach couture boutique.
The lowdown: It’s 90 degrees out, folks. What’s that mean? Crank that AC or slather on some SPF, slip into a swimsuit and bounce on over to the beach! Recently opened high-end-to-cheap-and-chic beach couture Nic del Mar boutique has got you covered — from itty-bitty bikinis to gauzy tunics to BoHo jewelry. “We started the concept of Nic del Mar in our last year of college after visiting the trendy island of Saint Barths and we fell in love with the local style and easy-going fashion sense and decided it would be a great idea to bring it to our hometown of Miami,” say owners and sisters Jeannette and Lyanne Roger.
The ‘hood: Just a block west of Miracle Mile on Biltmore Way, Nic del Mar’s neighbors include Home Design Store, Miller’s Studio and The Guayabera Lady.
The ambience: “Our goal was to make the store feel like a boutique hotel in the islands and focus on clean lines with white walls, dark-wood floors and white-lacquer armoirs,” Jeannette says. “Our favorite accents included the vintage driftwood mirror and modern hand-blown blue glass chandelier,” Lyanne adds. The added bonus? Comfortable fitting rooms with great lighting, large mirrors and seating. Genius.
Highlights: Scoop up a House of Harlow Sunburst necklace ($52), Echo butterfly tunic ($42), Diane Von Furstenberg leopard Rachel dress ($325), Salinas bikini ($102) or Hermanny by Vix coral one-piece ($104).
Why the name? “We combined our middle names, Nicole and Marie, to come up with a name that means ‘the sea’ but also has a little piece of us in it,” the sisters say.
The owners say: “We really wanted to make shopping for swimsuits as easy as possible for all women, so we created a store that feels airy and comfortable and make you feel like you’re on vacation,” the sisters add.
