Big Brother 12 is doing something new this time around. The voyeuristic reality TV series -- not for claustrophobics - has planted a mole in the house to do viewers' bidding and disrupt the players' lives. The show starts up July 8, but the saboteur will be revealed to viewers July 15. That person is not eligible to win the $500,000 prize.
Among the suspects: Local Andrew Gordon, an Orthodox Jew from Miami. The podiatrist, 39, is bringing his own cooking utensils and observing Shabbat, not using electricity from sundown Friday until Saturday night.
"It's already going to be tough in that house, so it's going to be even tougher dealing with these extra little things," he told the AP. "People are probably going to look at me as an outsider and wonder what I'm doing and why I'm not eating their food."
Another semilocal is Annie Whittington, a 27-year-old bartender from Tampa, who dyed her platinum hair brunette at the insistence of producers because there were too many blondes this season.
"I live my life full of adventure,'' she said. "I never thought I'd actually make it on the show. I love the social experiment, throwing in random people where they can't escape."
This season, the Big Brother dwelling, is Florida themed - with such beachy touches as an indoor room resembling a cabana and a pair of colossal fake palm trees.
